This year 7 PhD dissertations were nominated for Victor Lesser Distinguished Dissertation Award, all exceptionally outstanding. The committee members carefully considered the supporting documents and references associated with the nominations and thereafter engaged in extensive discussion and debate. The winner and runner-up for the 2019 award are:
Dr. Dominik Peters, whose dissertation was titled “Fair Division of the Commons” and was supervised by Prof. Edith Elkind from the University of Oxford, UK.
Dr. Kyle Hollins Wray, whose dissertation was titled “Abstractions in Reasoning for Long-Term Autonomy” and was supervised by Prof. Shlomo Zilberstein from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA.
